Please note that the Hong Kong Heraldry Society is not a heraldic authority and has never claimed to hold such status.
Numerous private establishment assert that they are entitled to grant coats of arms or offer related services. The Hong Kong Heraldry Society explicitly disclaims any such role. While we are pleased to provide assistance in various capacities—such as offering guidance in relation to the grant of arms, historical research, or educational resources—the Society itself does not grant arms or assume any authority to do so.
The Hong Kong Heraldry Society is an academic organisation dedicated to the study of heraldry. We are committed to promoting the development and preservation of heraldry in Hong Kong and the wider Greater China region. Our principal activities include:
-
systematic research into the history, design and evolution of heraldry in Hong Kong and the Greater China region;
-
maintenance of a Roll of Arms, systematically recording and preserving heraldic information relating to institutions, organisations and historical arms as a resource for study;
-
promotion of public understanding and education in heraldry through lectures, seminars and the publication of relevant materials;
-
provision of professional advice and consultancy on heraldic design and related matters;
-
encouragement of an active exchange platform to bring together researchers and enthusiasts for scholarly discussion and sharing; and,
-
preservation and protection of local heraldic cultural heritage.
Through these activities, the Society seeks to raise public awareness of heraldry and to provide professional support to relevant institutions and individuals.
